A Conversation With J.D. DeHart
I had the pleasure of speaking with J.D. DeHart about her new book, Breaking Bread With The Darkness. Here's what she had to say:
What inspired you to write this book?
I've always been drawn to the power of words, and I've always been interested in exploring the human experience. I wanted to write a book that would speak to the darkness that we all experience in our lives, but I also wanted to offer hope and healing.
What do you hope readers will take away from this book?
I hope that readers will be able to relate to the poems in this book on a personal level. I hope that they will find comfort and solace in these poems, and that they will be inspired to face their own darkness with courage and compassion.
What was the most challenging part of writing this book?
The most challenging part of writing this book was finding the right words to express the complex emotions that I was trying to convey. I wanted to be honest and authentic, but I also wanted to be respectful of the experiences of others. I hope that I have succeeded in ng both.
