It is the most wonderful time of the year, and Lady Sarah is determined to make the most of it. After all, this is her first Christmas since she was orphaned and sent to live with her distant relatives. She is determined to find joy and happiness, even if she has to create it herself.
Lord Edward is a wealthy and handsome viscount who is instantly smitten with Lady Sarah. He is determined to win her heart, but she is not so easily swayed. She has been hurt before, and she is not about to let anyone get too close.
As the Christmas season progresses, Lady Sarah and Lord Edward find themselves spending more and more time together. They share laughter, secrets, and stolen kisses. But their newfound happiness is threatened by a dark secret from Lady Sarah's past.
Will Lady Sarah be able to overcome her fears and find true love with Lord Edward? Or will the secrets of her past destroy their chance at happiness?
An Excerpt from Tis The Season For Lady Sarah
Lady Sarah sat by the fire, reading a book. She was so engrossed in her story that she didn't notice Lord Edward enter the room.
"My lady," he said, his voice soft and deep.
Lady Sarah looked up, startled. "My lord," she said, her cheeks flushing slightly.
Lord Edward smiled. "I did not mean to startle you, my lady." He sat down next to her on the sofa. "I hope I am not interrupting your reading?"
"Not at all," Lady Sarah said. "I was just finishing up."
Lord Edward took the book from her and placed it on the table. "May I?" he asked.
Lady Sarah nodded. "Of course."
Lord Edward opened the book to the page she had been reading. He began to read aloud, his voice rich and smooth.
Lady Sarah listened, her eyes closed. She could feel herself being transported to another time and place. She could smell the fresh air and hear the birds singing. She could feel the warm sun on her skin.
When Lord Edward finished reading, he looked up and smiled at Lady Sarah. "That was lovely," he said. "Thank you for sharing it with me."
Lady Sarah smiled back. "You are welcome," she said.
They sat in silence for a moment, each lost in their own thoughts.
"I should go," Lord Edward said finally.
Lady Sarah nodded. "Yes, I suppose you should."
Lord Edward stood up and walked towards the door. He turned and looked at Lady Sarah one last time.
"I hope to see you again soon," he said.
Lady Sarah smiled. "I hope so too," she said.
Lord Edward opened the door and walked out. Lady Sarah watched him go, her heart filled with a mix of hope and trepidation.
