The Boy Who Loved Words

Jonathan Peters was born in 1979 with dyslexia, a learning disability that makes it difficult to read, write, and spell. But Jonathan loved words. He would spend hours reading dictionaries and thesauruses, and he would often make up his own words.

After graduating from high school, Jonathan went on to college and graduate school. He earned a PhD in English literature from the University of California, Berkeley.

Today, Jonathan is a professor of English at the University of Southern California. He is also the founder of the Jonathan Peters Literacy Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides resources to help people with dyslexia.
